For the Love of Paper!

£180.00

2 Day Workshop

This weekend workshop is for paper lovers of all types - scrap paper collectors, note takers, doodlers, memory keepers, collage makers and artists like me who don’t like working in blank sketchbooks but want to know how to make their own books that feel personal and motivational.

What you will need to bring with you:

  • An apron or old clothes you won’t mind getting dirty.

  • Nothing else unless you want to! If you have papers and/or ephemera you want to include feel free to bring them along but this is totally optional.

What I will bring:

  • I will provide all paint, paper, collage materials, pencils and brushes and anything else I can think of that will allow you to have a fun time getting familiar with the subject and expressing yourself in paper, ink and paint!

  • 20 years experience teaching workshops and developing my own techniques through being a collage artist and designer, turned painter in more recent years. I have made mistakes and had successes in equal measure, so know all the pitfalls and want to encourage everyone, with no judgement, to create and express themselves!

Where is the workshop?

  • Studio 3, Stapleford Granary, Bury Road, Stapleford, Cambridge, CB22 5BP

  • Limited free parking is available on site, if full please park respectfully in nearby roads.

When is the workshop?

  • Sat 25th and Sun 26th April, 9.30 - 4.30pm

How the course will unfold:

  • On Saturday we will start choosing our papers and talk about what kind of books we can make and our interests and inspirations.

  • The rest of the day spent will be spent painting, mark-making, writing, gelli-plate printing and anything else we can think of in order to create a bundle of papers and artwork unique to you.

  • Sunday is when we will collate everything and design and make your beautiful creative books for you to take home.

  • We start with simple concertina books, no-sew collage journals, and a basic pamphlet stitch sketchbook and I will give you additional collage ephemera to enhance your own materials.

How much is the workshop?

£180 with all materials provided and you can take all your artwork home.

There are only 8 spaces available so this is a small workshop and I will be fully hands on to help you and answer any questions.

If this sounds right for you please go ahead and book your space below!
